Who We Are

The Point of Care Marketing Association, the leading organization for the Point of Care channel, brings together companies across the industry, united in their commitment to advance patient outcomes and transform healthcare experiences.

How We Define
“Point of Care”

Point of Care is defined as the moment a patient receives care via an interaction with a healthcare professional in a healthcare setting. A healthcare setting includes doctor offices, pharmacies, hospitals, other healthcare facilities and via virtual care.
  • Doctor’s offices
  • Pharmacies
  • Hospitals
  • Other healthcare facilities
  • Telehealth applications

Point of Care Media is targeted to patients, caregivers, and/or providers and is generally intended to be delivered before, during, and/or after an interaction at the Point of Care with the goal of facilitating a discussion between Healthcare professionals and patients to improve patient outcomes.

Why is Point of Care
Important?

Education at the Point of Care helps patients, caregivers, and providers engage in more meaningful conversations—building shared awareness of conditions, treatment options, care experiences, and decisions that shape outcomes. It supports both sides of the care conversation with timely, relevant information that deepens understanding, strengthens trust, and empowers collaboration throughout the care journey.

Our Mission

Our mission is to advance patient healthcare outcomes by ensuring Point of Care media is utilized to educate patients and healthcare providers and empower them to have meaningful discussions in a trusted environment.

Our Vision

We envision a future where the Point of Care channel is recognized as an essential, reliable, and meaningful way to connect patients, caregivers, and providers with the information they need to drive better care decisions.
